NACMA is dedicated to providing the premier coordinate metrology education and training to CMM operators, inspectors, quality control engineers, production engineers, designers, equipment suppliers, and metrology management throughout North America. Workshops are held at industrial manufacturers, universities, and National Metrology Institutes such as NIST (USA), NRC (Canada), and CENAM (Mexico), to support industrial manufacturing excellence. NACMA training is provided by world-class experts on topics such as measurement uncertainties, CMM and GD&T software validation, CMM measurement techniques, thermally induced errors, CMM probing effects, metrology economics, and national and international standards.
In 1995 members of the National Measurement Institute in Canada (NRC) created the Association for Coordinate Metrology Canada (ACMC) as a CMM user group to provide local CMM metrology education. In 2007 the ACMC became the North American Coordinate Metrology Association (NACMA) with the chair and the venue rotating among United States, Canada, and Mexico.
